The love of making brought Maria McLean to design footwear. 10 years of working in the shoe trade resulted in her setting up her own shoemakery with the humble aim to make shoes that fit everyone perfectly.

The products – at the moment a range of sandals – are designed to be comfortable, customised and locally produced.

The Shoemakery operates out of a set of mobile workshop units where the products are made from beginning to end, striking the perfect balance between the hand and the machine.

Maria is a graduate of the Royal College of Art and one of the winners of Cockpit Arts Leathersellers’ Award 2014 and 2015.
